Online Lecture for engineering students: Topic ” DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE AXLE, SHAFT AND SPINDLE” from AUTOMOBILE OR I.C. ENGINE.
In this video lecture i have discussed about the ” DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE AXLE, SHAFT AND SPINDLE” from AUTOMOBILE OR I.C. ENGINE.
The difference between the Axle, Shaft and spindle are:-
In case of axle
a] Axle are rotating or non rotating member or component.
b] Which are subjected to bending moment or bending stress due to the member supported by it.
c] It does not transmit torque.
d] In other word axle is not twisted it only bends.
e] it is also known as stationary machinery element or component.
in case of shaft
a] it is a mechanical component which is used to transmit power.
b] Which are subjected to bending moment and twisting moment.
c] it can be twisted and transmit torque.
In case of Spindle
a] The spindle look like as a small shaft.
b] The spindle can be rotate either cutting tool or to work piece for example in lathe machine, milling machine, shaper machine, drilling machine etc.
This topic is important for Mechanical, Civil, Mechanical Maintenance, production, automobile, polymer, Aeronautics diploma, B.tech. and AMIE students.
